Description
Amendment 0001 to suspend solicitation. AMENDMENT 0001: Headquarters - U. S. Army Corps of Engineers (HQUSACE) has directed all USACE field offices to temporarily cease American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) contracting actions for pending or planned contracts with recreation elements. This solicitation is being postponed until further notice. ORIGINAL SYNOPSIS: The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington Office of the Savannah Regional Contracting Center intends to issue an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for Footbridge replacement and renovation of Tailrace Facilities located at Falls Lake, Wake County, North Carolina. Description of work: The project consists of three primary features: (1) culvert, stream, and drainage improvements, (2) abutments for an existing floating boathouse gangway to serve as a pedestrian bridge, plus modifications to the gangway, and (3) resurfacing the bituminous concrete access road, beginning at the Government gate and proceeding through the parking areas. The culvert will receive a new headwall, stream banks will be protected to reduce erosion, and areas of the site will be regraded to redirect runoff and protected with erosion control matting or other protective measures to control erosion. In addition, existing drainage structures will be cleaned of debris and sediment. The gangway will be cut down in length to fit the new abutments, cleaned, painted, and improved with new hand and safety rails. The solicitation will be issued on or about 7 December 2009. It is the Government's intent to award a Firm-Fixed Price contract for this project. The solicitation is 100% set aside for HubZone Small Businesses. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 237310 with a small business size standard of $33,500,000.
