Description RECOVERY-For Informational Purposes Only: Expand and Promote Resources for NCI Smoking Cessation Resources and Develop and Evaluate Resources for NCI and Strategic Partners with regard to Implementation of the Scientific Mandate of the Center for Tobacco Products The purpose of this announcement is to fulfill the disclosure requirement under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). It is provided for informational purposes only. The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Cancer Institute (NCI) will be procuring services through the General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule 541 Advertising & Integrated Marketing Solutions (AIMS) in accordance with FAR 8.4. NCI has selected five contractors which will be solicited to obtain services. The contractor shall provide services that contribute to the significant expansion of the awareness and treatment engagement in evidence-based cessation services such as NCI's smoking cessation website. Tasks associated with this contract include development of interactive tools, translation and maintenance of online Spanish language cessation resources, development and implementation of a broad marketing/promotion strategy for the sites, multi-level evaluation of reach, and engagement and effectiveness of the NCI web-based cessation resources. These products and tasks will enable NCI to more effectively disseminate smoking cessation information and provide cessation services to both the general population of smokers and specific high risk and underserved populations. Ultimately this contract will facilitate NCI's ability to meet key objectives of its mission statement and to improve public health by helping to address the single largest cause of avoidable death in the United States with over 440,000 deaths annually attributed to tobacco use. This award will be made utilizing ARRA funding to support NCI's fight against tobacco use and the mission to eliminate disease burden caused by the use of tobacco products. It is anticipated that a single Firm Fixed Price type task order with a period of performance of two years will result from this requirement. This announcement is for informational purposes.
