- THIS IS AN AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT (ARRA) PROCUREMENT. The purpose of this announcement is to make notice that the Forest Service contemplates releasing a solicitation numbered AG-0489-S-10-0258 on or about February 18, 2010, for the RECOVERY KMRD Road Storage South project. If the solicitation is released, it will be released through this FedBizOpps website, and prospective bidders should visit this FedBizOpps website from time to time on or after February 18, 2010 to obtain a copy of the solicitation. This notice meets the requirements of FAR 5.201. However, the Forest Service reserves the right not to release a solicitation. PROJECT DESCRIPTION. The intent of the contract is to perform road maintenance activities. Work includes installing waterbars, excavate and sidecast road fill material, haul and place rock borrow, remove culverts and log bridges, clear brush from the roadway and drainage structure inlets, furnish and install culverts and bridges, excavate ditches, roadside brushing, and seeding and fertilizing exposed organic soils on and along roadsides on approximately 107 miles of National Forest System Roads on the Ketchikan Ranger District. The removed culverts and hardware become the property of the contractor and must be removed from the National Forest. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, supplies, and perform all work required to maintain the facilities in accordance with the attached typical drawings, supplemental specifications and parent specifications. The intent of this contract is to provide for the complete project described in the contract. Unless otherwise provided, the Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and supplies and perform all work required to complete the project in accordance with the specifications and provisions of the contract. The Government’s estimate is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. PROJECT LOCATION. The project is located on Revilla Island in southeast Alaska. The forest road systems at Shoal Cove, Shelter Cove, and Upper Carroll Inlet are remote, accessible by either saltwater or air travel. Ketchikan is the nearest full service community to the work sites. PARTICIPATION. This project is a Total HUB-ZONE Business Set-Aside. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered. Prospective bidders who wish to provide comments on the set-aside matter should provide these comments to the contracting officer on or before February 18, 2010. Indeed, all prospective bidders are invited to notify the contracting officer of their interest in the acquisition. FOR MORE INFORMATION.
