Description
The Naval Air Systems Command intends to place a modification against a delivery order on a BOA contract (N00019-05-G-0008) with Raytheon Company located in El Segundo, CA for the procurement of one AN/APG-79(V)2 Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) RAdio Detection And Ranging (RADAR) (-130), as well as the necessary special test equipment to upgrade the AESA RADAR Depot facility to accommodate the (-130) configuration for the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) F/A-18 program. The AESA manufacturer is the Raytheon Company, El Segundo, CA. Award of the original BOA was made with authority under FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Raytheon is the original designer, developer, and manufacturer of the AESA RADAR for the RAAF F/A-18F aircraft. As such Raytheon is the only company with the unique knowledge, expertise, special skills, facilities, manufacturing techniques, and technical data required to complete this requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and submit technical information and a technical capability statement in response to this notice. Responses without a return address, mailing address, and company telephone number will not be recognized. No phone calls will be accepted. Proprietary data in the responses will be protected where so designated. Offerors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database to be eligible for contract award or payment from any DoD activity. A determination not to compete this proposed effort based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. For small business or subcontracting opportunities, contact Raytheon at (310) 334-2990. Any questions regarding this synopsis should be sent via e-mail to lisa.m.maples@navy.mil by close of business 19 February 2010. See Number Note 22.
