- Description
- The Social Security Administration intends to issue on a sole-source basis a firm fixed priced purchase order to renew a yearly electronic subscription entitled, STAT!Ref from Teton Data Systems for online access to search and/or browse medical textbooks. Period of Performance shall be for a base period and four (4) option periods. The Base Period shall begin from date of contract award for a period of twelve (12) months thereafter. Under FAR Part 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Sources Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. This requirement is utilizing procedures in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 - Acquisition of Commercial Items in conjunction with procedures under FAR Part 13. Teton Data Systems is located in Jackson, WY and provides medical reference information to healthcare professionals and medical schools nationwide. STAT! Ref provides cross-search of medical texts from various publishers. Teton Data Systems is the only known source that can provide these services. This is not a request for quotations or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation, but merely notification of the Government's intent to order this subscription from the Teton Data Systems. Requests for copies of a solicitation in response will not be honored or acknowledged. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government does not intend to pay for information provided in response to this publication. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill this requirement. If no affirmation responses are received within 3 business, in accordance with FAR 13.106-(b)(1), negotiations will be conducted with Teton Data Systems as the only source. A purchase order will be issued without any additional notices being posted. Respondents should refer to 0919-10-1201.
