- This requirement is FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION The Federal Aviation Administration, Eastern Logistics Service Area has a requirement for: Construction of Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) and Base Building Renovations for Fire Protection and Life Safety Modifications, Owensboro-Daviess County regional Airport, Owensboro, Kentucky. The SCOPE OF WORK (SOW) includes, but not limited to: The Construction of the Airport Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) and Base Building Renovations for Fire Protection and Life Safety Modifications; including, but not limited to, provisions for a new Fire Alarm system complete with associated electrical & mechanical work; and new exterior stairway with associated steel work /structural modifications. New Exit Stair and Exterior Metal Panel System SOW includes but not limited to: Furnish and install all work Civil, Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, & Electrical for a new exit stair and exterior metal panel system. Work includes foundations, structural steel, metal panels, stairs, handrails, architectural finish, doors, electrical service, & all other items required by the drawings to produce a complete new exterior exit stairway. VALUE ENGINEERING:The FAA will accept a value engineering solution to the stairway design requirement. If savings can be achieved, the FAA will accept a pre - designed or custom stairway solution from a manufacturer that specializes in this type of installation. Stairway producer must be a licensed company that specializes in providing similar items, and can show at least five years past experience and at least five projects similar in type and size. Stair design must be signed by a Professional Engineer registered in the State where stair is manufactured Alternate No. 1 (SOW): Provide additional training for two (2) FAA Technicians at the fire alarm system manufacturer's factory training location, including all instruction, references, course materials and necessary travel expenses. This training shall be conducted no more than one (1) year after final acceptance. Alternate No. 2 (SOW):Provide Central Station Monitoring Services for a period of two (2) years from the date of final acceptance. Alternate No. 3 (SOW): Provide intumescent thin-film coating on the entire underside of the ceiling area at top of Elevator Shaft. Furnish and install intumescent thin-film coating on underside of hatch. Application thickness shall be a minimum of 0.55 inches. Construction Range: $250,000 - $400,000.
