- The United States Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote (RFQ) for the Drydock and Repair of the USCG ANT BALTIMORE CG49428, a 49’ Buoy Utility Stern Loading Boat. The acquisition will be set-aside for Small Businesses. The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation FAR Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Subpart 13.5 Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The standard industrial classification code is 3732 and the NAICS is 336611. The acquisition will be issued as a Best Value, Request for Quote (RFQ), on or about 12 February 2010. This Requirement will be evaluated using past performance as an evaluation factor. All work will be performed at the contractor’s facility. The performance period will be sixty one (61) calendar days with a start date on 30 April 2010. Restriction: The vessel is restricted to an area no greater than 140 nautical miles from the BUSL’s home station, on navigable waterways and no more than 30 nautical miles off shore. Home Station: Coast Guard Station Baltimore, 2401 Hawkins Point Rd., Baltimore, MD 21226-2704. The RFQ will be issued via the Federal Business Opportunity (FEDBIZOPS) web page at https://fbo.gov. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for the RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. FEDBIZOPS contains an option for automatic notification service. A CD-ROM containing all applicable drawings will be sent via Fed-X, if requested. Send all requests via e-mail to genie.s.williams@uscg.mil. The scope of work for this acquisition is but not limited to: Welding Repairs (Aluminum), Ultrasonic Thickness (UT) Shot Inspection; Clean and Inspect Fuel Service Tanks; Clean and Inspect Sewage and Grey Water Collection and Holding Tanks; Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propellers; Clean, Inspect, and Test Grid Coolers; Inspect and Test Air Receiver and Renew Relief Valve; Clean and Inspect Steering Hydraulic Oil Tank; Remove, inspect, and Reinstall Rudders; Buoy Handling Stem Maintenance; Preserve Lazarette Bulkheads and Overhead; Preserve Underwater Body 100%; Routine Drydocking; Air Test Skegs and Renew Chain Guard; Inspect Accessible Voids; Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Rub Rail and Stern Fender Systems; Renew Fuel Valves; Clean and Inspect Engine Exhaust Systems; Preserve Buoy Deck; Preserve Freeboard; Renew Water-Lubricated Shaft Bearings; Renew Sea Valves; Clean, Inspect Port and Starboard Reduction Gear Oil Coolers; Preserve Bilge Surfaces; Renew Hoses. Trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures shall accomplish all welding and brazing.
