- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs, Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center 1500 Weiss St, Saginaw, Michigan, 48602 anticipates soliciting bids and consequently awarding a contract for the construction project known as "Brick Masonry Repairs." The solicitation will be conducted in accordance with FAR Part 14 (SEALED BIDDING) and Part 36 (CONSTRUCTION) and will be evaluated in accordance with the procedures therein. The solicitation will be advertised as a Total Set-Aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses. The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, supplies, travel, etc. to perform all work under this project which consists of: Contractor shall completely prepare building and attached structures (excluding building 22) for preservation, maintenance and repair of masonry, power wash exterior brick masonry, stone and poured-in-place concrete trim surfaces, Tuck point damaged mortar joints and previously tuck pointed areas, seal all movement cracks, install flexible caulk around the perimeter of all windows, doors, vents and building penetrations, install flexible caulk in all the coping joints in the handicap ramp, sill and water table joints, caulk all expansion joints, install flexible caulk in all the brick masonry staircase wall to concrete step joints and the vertical and horizontal stone step to stone step joints, install flexible caulk in all the brick masonry to concrete handicap ramp joints, install flexible caulk in the defective lintel joints, paint steel lintels, install Colorklad 26 gauge pre-finished sheet metal drip edge between the brick masonry and stone trim above the windows, install Colorklad 26-gauge pre-finished sheet metal coping, install Colorklad 26-gauge pre-finished sheet metal over the poured-in-place concrete fascia and soffit, install Colorklad 26-gauge pre finished sheet metal over the poured-in-place concrete cornice, adhere EPDM to all areas before installing Colorklad 26-gauge pre-finished sheet metal, work includes general construction, sealing, mechanical work, construction and following applicable building codes and furnish labor and materials and perform work for preparation of masonry repair, Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center, Saginaw, Michigan as required by drawings and specifications. The period of performance is 120 calendar days for the entire project. Magnitude of construction is expected to be between $500,000 and $1,000,000. NAICS Code for this acquisition is 238140 Masonry Repair. The solicitation documents including specifications and drawings will be issued on or about 2-23-2010 and will be posted on Federal Business Opportunities. This date is subject to change. Hard copy documents including drawings will not be available - all documents for bidding purposes will be posted at this website for download. Site visit information will be provided upon issuance of solicitation. Only one site visit is planned. Bids will be due 30 days after issuance of solicitation. This notice is for informational purposes only and is not a request for submission of offers. The Government is not obligated to issue a solicitation as a result of this notice. No other information is available until issuance of the solicitation. No bidder list is maintained.
