- Description
- DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS (VA) IS CONDUCTING A MARKET SURVEY AND DESIRES TO LEASE OFFICE AND MEDICALLY RELATED SPACE FOR THE OCCUPANCY OF A MENTAL HEALTH CLINIC. VA will also consider acceptance of donated space. The offered site must contain between 8,000 - 9,989 square feet and have adequate parking, including handicapped parking as required by law. The property shall be located within the following delineated area in the City of Jacksonville, Florida: West Boundary Interstate 295; East Boundary by Southside Boulevard; North Boundary by Alternate Route I; and South Boundary by J. Turner Butler Boulevard. The facility must also be within 8 miles of 1833 Boulevard Street. Location with existing expansion clinic is highly desirable due to a Sec VA waiver for the current expansion clinic. To be considered, the site must be located within the delineated area, be on or near public transportation, have adequate on-site parking for employees and veteran beneficiaries, and be handicapped accessible. Zoning must be appropriate for operation of a mental health clinic. Sites that are easily accessible by major roads and public transportation requiring minimal build-out are most desirable. Sites previously used for Medical Occupancy are preferred. Offerors must provide evidence that offered properties are outside the 100-year flood plain and that there are no environmental issues associated with the property. This includes wetlands designation, hazardous waste issues, etc. VA staff will conduct a Market Survey of offered properties. Interested offerors (owners, brokers, or legal representatives) shall submit one copy of the property description, including a floor plan of the space and a photo or drawing of the site to Rachel Griner by mail, fax, or e-mail no later than 4:00pm by February 24, 2010, at the following address: Department of Veteran Affairs - VHA, Acquisition Service Area Office East-8, Leasing Branch, 619 South Marion Avenue, Lake City, Florida 32025 - FAX: 386-758-3211, E-MAIL: Rachel.griner@va.gov, PHONE: 386-755-3016, ext. 3660. The Government will pay no more than the appraised fair market value for a leased site. VA assumes no responsibility to purchase the site.
