- Description
- The U.S. Coast Guard intends to procure blue polo shirts in accordance with the attached Statement of Work (SOW). This proposed procurement is for services/supplies for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate on a sole source basis to: Greco Apparel Inc., 420 N Spring Garden St., Ambler, PA 19002 SCOPE: 1.) The United Coast Guard (USCG) will be purchasing blue polo shirts that will be part of a Coast Guard summer uniform. 2.) The USCG began this project by working with Greco Apparel Inc. The USCG bought a small quantity of polo shirts for testing in Florida in 2008, and early 2009. After the wear test, the order was solicited with a Commercial Item Description (CID). The USCG received Product Demonstration Models (PDM's) from several vendors, all of which were unacceptable. 3.) Due to Greco Apparel Inc's previous design of the polo shirts for the wear tests performed in 2008/2009, and the previous solicitations being unsuccessful, Greco is the best option to produce the polo shirts to ensure delivery by summer 2010. Note 22. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within forty-five days (thirty days if award is issued under an existing basic ordering agreement) after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
