Description
NASA/JSC is hereby soliciting information about potential sources for AdvancedBattery Pack Design using Mass Production, Lithium-based, Green Cell Technology forNASAs Testing Activities. Interested parties should have Mass Production, Lithium-based,Green Cell Technology with energy densities greater than 410Whr/L.NASA's Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston, Texas, proposes to enter into anon-reimbursable Space Act Agreement (SAA) with Boston Power, Inc. forperformance/proof-of-concept testing of advanced green battery packs for possibleintegration into an advanced space vehicle. No appropriated funds will be available toBoston Power, Inc. for this SAA. Upon completion of these SAAs, the Center will determineif the technology should be included as part of an advanced battery design for additionaltesting. It is possible that these testing activities may result in a formal acquisitionby NASA of an advanced green space battery for incorporation into a space vehicle. NASAJSC is seeking to collaborate, on a non-reimbursable basis, with additional partieshaving advanced green battery technologies for NASAs testing activities. Interestedparties are directed to provide expressions of interest and capability by COB on February25, 2010 to Elizabeth Kluksdahl at elizabeth.kluksdahl-1@nasa.gov.No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If asolicitation is released it will be synopsized in FedBizOpps and on the NASA AcquisitionInternet Service.
