- Description
- This synopsis is not a request for quotes or proposals. This is a pre-solicitation notice that a solicitation is scheduled to be released via FedBizOpps (wwww.fbo.gov) in the near future detailing this requirement. The contractor shall reconfigure the spillway gates according to the contract plans (to be provided with solicitation)to provide access to both the TSW1 crest, the TSW2 crest, the TSW2 leaf support frame, and the TSW2 downstream leaf. In order to obtain access to the TSW2 crest it is first necessary to remove the TSW2 downstream components. Currently TSW1 and 2 are located in spillbay19 and 20. These components are not readily suitable for highway transport without some disassembly. As a result the contractor shall take these components to a McNary provided work site for disassembly. When originally constructed, a special bottom seal assembly was fabricated and installed on the bottom of one upper spillway gate leaf for use in suspending flow over the TSW2 crest. This seal assembly shall also be removed from the gate at the disassembly site. The contractor shall then haul the downstream TSW2 components and the seal assembly offsite for disposal. With the TSW2 downstream components out of the way, the contractor shall then reconfigure the spillway gates to provide access to the TSW1 and TSW2 crest pieces. The contractor shall take those crest pieces and place them in two upstream spillway gate slots provided by McNary. Finally the contractor shall reconfigure the TSW spillbays to provide for normal spillway operation. The TSW and spillway gate components are large and heavy and not conducive to manipulate with a mobile crane. McNary will provide contractor access to a spillway crane. This announcement is for informational and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a comitment by the Government, implied or otherwise, to issue a solicitation or award a contract.
