Background: Over the course of the past four years, Fort Carsons wood recycling operations have significantly increased. During that time, the wood has been shredded using equipment donated by the Air Force Academy. Unfortunately, the machine was inoperable for a few months for maintenance problems and the wood pile has increased to an unmanageable size. The Recycle Operations does not have the time or manpower to shred the pile at its current size. 2. A contractor who can fulfill the requirements independently is needed. 3. Qualifications: To qualify, the following criteria must be met: a. Mobile equipment with the capability to grind75 - 100 cubic yards of wood per hour to grind on-site (Fort Carson), AND b. Experience and ability to handle and shred wood pallets, crates, dimensional lumber, and tree limbs, c.Hauling and transportation of wood chips off-site is OPTIONAL **Any wood chips removed off-site shall be recycled 4.
