Description

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE ANNOUNCEMENT TO ASCERTAIN WEBSITE ADDRESS TO DOWNLOAD PROJECT DOCUMENTS AND PROJECT DETAILS. The work of this project is to provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision and perform all operations required to repair the blast furnace top stone deck at Saugus Iron Works National Historic Site, Saugus, MA. The principal features of the work include (but are not limited to): repoint all (300 square feet) blast furnace top deck stones; remove and reset 30 square feet of stone deck to achieve positive drainage; selective repointing of 30 square feet of stone work at furnace stack walls; repoint 16 lineal feet of mortar joint at furnace stack iron cap; and clean with water the north and east blast furnace stone masonry walls. This Request for Quotations will be available at http://ideasnec.nbc.gov website on or about February 26, 2010. The NAICS code being used for this construction project is 238140 with a size standard of $14 million. In accordance with FAR Section 36.204, the estimated price range for this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. All quotes must be submitted on or about March 16, 2010. This acquisition will be a written Request for Quotes using Simplified Acquisition (FAR Part 13) procedures. PAPER COPIES OF THIS SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED AND TELEPHONE REQUESTS OR FAX REQUESTS FOR THIS SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Instructions are contained on the website (http://ideasnec.nbc.gov and at http://www.fedbizopps.gov) for downloading the solicitation and atttachments. It is the responsibility of all offerors to acknowledge ALL amendments to the solicitation. All vendors interested in doing business with the government are required to pre-register in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) at www.ccr.gov. The CCR is a self-service database. Vendors register themselves and maintain their own information through the CCR website. This procurement is open to large and small business concerns and is subject to Public Law 100-656, Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program.
