- This is a pre-solicitation announcement for the Department of Veterans Affairs, Central Iowa Health Care System [VACIHS] Des Moines, Iowa under the Recovery Act (RA). An Invitation for Bid [IFB] solicitation will be issued on or about December 15, 2009 for a construction project titled RA-Relocate/Upgrade Air Intake for Primary Care. The project will be performed at the VA Central Iowa Healthcare System, 3600 30th Street, Des Moines, Iowa. The applicable North American Industry Classification Standard (NAICS) code is 238220, with a Small Business Size Standard of $14 million. In accordance with FAR 36.204, construction range is $100,000 to $250,000. The government contemplates the award of a firm fixed price contract resulting from this solicitation. The contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, materials, tools, supplies, transportation, personnel, supervision and management necessary to perform the required work and complete the project. The work shall include but is not limited to: Move current air intake to an area on the roof that complies with current VA standards for HVAC and security and any additional construction work associated with this move. The solicitation, INVITATION FOR BIDS (IFB), Solicitation # VA-263-10-IB-0034 will be issued on or about December 15, 2009 with a closing date of receipt of quotes on or about January 25, 2010. This IFB will be posted on the Government Wide Point of Entry (GPE) accessed via the Internet at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. No paper copies of the solicitation and/or amendments will be distributed. It is the potential offeror's responsibility to monitor this avenue (FEDBIZOPPS) for release of the solicitation and any subsequent amendments.
