- NASA/JSC has a requirement for a one year continuance of Automated Tool and Methodfor System Safety Analysis research initiative to develop and demonstrate asemi-automated method of extracting system models, hazards and failures fromspecifications, to improve the efficiency, repeatability of system analysis for softwareassurance and test definition. This work continues support to NASAs safety and missionassurance program objective to insure safe and reliable software as missions increase incomplexity and duration. The research initiative will develop methods and tools to definemodels and tests for an existing virtual integration laboratory simulator.NASA/JSC intends to purchase the items from Triakis Corporation because the researchinitiative will develop methods and tools to define models and tests for an existingTriakis Virtual System Integration Laboratory simulator. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 2:30 p.m. local timeon February 19, 2010. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
