JOB Description: The job site is located at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Coyote Valley Dam / Lake Mendocino Project Headquarters, approximately 5 miles north of the city of Ukiah (1160 Lake Mendocino Drive, Ukiah, California, 95482) and 3 miles from State Highway 101. Proposed work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment to renovate Building #2, upgrading it from its present state to a multi-purpose office. Building #2 shall be renovated to include a Conference Room, Kitchen, Dining Area, Filing Storage Room and Men's & Women's Restrooms. The Government has already purchased some necessary materials for the project's completion. The Contractor shall verify the govt-supplied materials and furnish the remaining necessary materials to perform this project. Building # 2 was originally constructed to serve as a concrete and soils testing laboratory, as well as a survey office, during the construction of Coyote Valley Dam (CVD) and appurtenances. Following completion of the dam in the late 1950's, the building was converted into a wood shop and storage facility. The wood-framed single-story structure has a total floor area of approximately 2,850 feet. Floors are concrete slab type, ceilings are vaulted, and interior walls are generally covered with sheetrock or plywood, if not exposed to studs. The roof is covered with composition type rolled roofing overlaying plywood sheeting, purlins and insulating fiberboard. Currently, Building # 2 is used as an alternate make-shift conference area, as well as exercise and storage facility. The Project's main building (Building 1) houses the main conference room (also serves as lunch room) which is extremely undersized. Building #2 contains women's and men's restrooms which are in various stages of renovation. In 2009, project staff remodeled approximately 368 feet of floor space to construct a new exercise room. Hence, this area shall not be included in the new proposed work. ORDERING SOLICITATION: The actual solicitation, when it is ready to be advertised, will be posted on this website only.
