- Description
- Purpose: The Middle East District (MED), a subordinate element of the Transatlantic Division (TAD), US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), will host the Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) Industry Day on Friday, March 26, 2010. The purpose of the MATOC Industry Day 2010 is to provide construction industry representatives with information regarding MEDs intent to advertise and solicit for a potential multi-Billion dollar MATOC for USACE Construction and Design-Build projects in the US Central Command (CENTCOM) area of responsibility, which includes the 20 countries from Egypt east through Central Asia. During the session, the Government will provide an overview of the draft solicitation, and will offer presentations on specialized foreign and contingency acquisition rules, small business opportunities, and potential workload under the MATOC. Attendees will also be able to ask the Government's representatives questions about the draft solicitation or the presentations. All potential offerors are welcome. MED highly encourages Small Businesses to send representatives to the Industry Day to network with larger firms in order to provide potential partnership opportunities. Interested organizations/persons should periodically visit the website shown below to check for updated information regarding the MATOC and Industry Day. One important update will be the website posting of the Draft Request for Proposal, scheduled to occur on/about March 10, 2010. Event Details: The event will be held on Friday, March 26, 2010 at the Millwood Station Special Events Center, 252 Costello Drive, Winchester, VA 22602. Doors will open for sign-in at 8:00 AM, the presentations will begin at 9:00 AM, and we expect to be completed by about 4:00 PM. Event Registration: Those interested in attending are encouraged to register no later than March 19, 2010 via MEDs Industry Day website at http://www.tam.usace.army.mil/IndustryDay10.asp. Contractors can register as many attendees as they choose. Non-registered guests will be admitted on a first come, first served, space-available basis; however, space is limited, so advance registration is highly encouraged. Please note that registration information will be made available to the public. Post-Event Information: Presentation slides, a list of Questions and Answers, and the Participant List will be posted to the website and in the FedBizOps no later than April 26, 2010. Note: This Notice is being issued for planning and informational proposes only. It does not constitute a solicitation, nor is it to be construed as a commitment by the Government. The Government will not pay for any effort expended in responding to this notice, or participation in this event (to include attendees travel costs), nor will the Government accept proposals as a result of this Notice. Meals will not be provided at this event; a 90 minute break for off-site lunch is planned. Additional Information: Area information, including local hotels and area attractions, is available on the website. Email is the preferred method of communication: Industry.Day.10@usace.army.mil.
