BORDELON Contracting Officer General Services Administration STATEMENT OF WORK "Construction Language and Terms" Many members of GSA's acquisition workforce hold positions that are non-architect/engineer in nature. These non-technical employees, such as: contracting officers, property managers, realty specialist, project specialists, etc., routinely participate in the spec-writing process, pre-proposal conferences, and pre-construction meetings where construction language and terminology are often used. However, very few of these non-technical employees have enough exposure to construction language/expressions to effectively follow-on during these phases of the acquisition process. GSA (PBS/Region 5) is seeking a 1 or 2-day course on the basics of construction language and terminology. The purpose of this course is to introduce basic construction jargon to non-technical professionals. The goal is to introduce non-technical employees to prevalent construction lingo so that they will be better able to follow along in a construction meeting. This course can be provided as a class or a seminar. This course is required to be available for the dates: March 31 if a 1-day course (March 30-31, 2010 if a 2-day course) Offerors should provide a course curriculum or proposal detailing how the class will be presented. Offerors should submit the number of CLPs that will be earned Offerors should submit the names of potential course instructors
