Description
FAA to Host Annual National Small Business Procurement Opportunities Training Conference and Trade Show in Oklahoma City, OklahomaJune 28, 2010 - July 1, 2010: REGISTRATION INFORMATION BELOW. The Annual FAA National Small Business Procurement Opportunities Training Conference and Trade Show will be hosted, at the Renaissance Oklahoma City Convention Center Hotel. The forum will provide small businesses knowledge on how to contract with the FAA, marketing strategies, and give important information on procurement opportunities such as NextGen, Systems Engineering 2020, Electronic FAA Accelerated and Simplified Tasks (eFAST), Information Technologies Support Services (ITSS), EnRoute Automation Modernization System (ERAM), EnRoute Technical & Administrative Support Services, National Airspace System (NAS) Implementation Support Contract (NISC), Mentor-Protg Program, power systems, terminal field operational support, engineering development services, safety and operations support, communications flight service and weather engineering, technology transfer, airport and aircraft safety R&D, quality standards, research partnerships, operational support, security guard services (Federal Protective Service contracts consolidation), construction, airport modernization, information technology support services, management services, technical support services, engineering services, facilities infrastructure and security services, environmental services, telecommunications services, major system and subsystem manufacturing, architectural and training services etc. The FAA annually obligates more than $3.5 billion in goods and services (over $1 billion a year in support services awarded to small businesses.) In Fiscal Year 2009, the FAA awarded 29% of the total procurement dollars to small businesses, 9% to 8(a) certified firms, 12% to small disadvantaged businesses, 5% to women-owned businesses and 2% to service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses. In Fiscal Year 2010 (for the period beginning 10/1/09 - 1/27/10), the FAA awarded 30% to small businesses, 11% to small disadvantaged businesses, 6% to women-owned businesses, and 3% to service-disabled veteran-owned businesses. The FAA continues to aggressively reach out to the nation's small businesses by conducting technical panel sessions and procurement opportunity workshops that are specifically focused on awarding prime contracts and subcontracts to small businesses. Workshop sessions will address technical program requirements and business issues as well as provide detailed procurement information that will help increase small business opportunities with the FAA. Small businesses are encouraged to market their capabilities during the forums with large primes, FAA technical and procurement subject matter experts, and by participating in the Exhibit Hall Trade Show. Large businesses with major FAA contracts will also be on-hand to provide specific subcontracting opportunities and conduct industry subcontracting/mentor-protg workshops (i.e., SRA International, Computer Sciences Corporation, Serco, Northrop Grumman, Deloitte, Apptis Inc., A3 Technology, Harris, ITT, Tremco Inc., Advanced Management Technology Inc., Lockheed Martin, Parsons, L-3 Communications, Raytheon, B3 Solutions, VMD Systems Integrators, Inc., Construction and Service Solutions Corp. and many more.)
