THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLEONLY TO STINGER GHAFFARIAN TECHNOLOGIES INCORPORATED (SGT, INC.) UNDER CONTRACT NUMBERNNA08CG83C FOR INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT (ISRDS) AT NASA AMESRESEARCH CENTER (ARC) LOCATED AT MOFFETT FIELD, CA. THIS IS AUTHORIZED UNDER THEAMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT OF 2009 (ARRA). ARC intends to issue Task Order74, titled Integrate Surface algorithms and Enhance Surface Simulation Software. Research funded by this task will focus onaddressing the capacity challenges facing the US national airspace. It is forecast thatover the next 15 years, air traffic in the United States will double, far exceeding thecountrys current capability to safely fly aircraft. To handle this growth, NASA iscontributing toward the development of the Next Generation Air Transportation System(NextGen). NASAs NextGen Airportal project investigates new concepts, algorithms, andprocedures to dramatically increase efficiency and throughput of airport surfaceoperations for increased future air traffic demand. In support of NASAs Airportalresearch, the contractor shall enhance an existing surface traffic simulation platform,Surface Operations Simulator and Scheduler (SOS2 ), to improve its ability to simulateadvanced surface concepts that will lead to the development of more efficient airportsurface operations. Task Order 74 will be funded by the Recovery Act. A contractmodification will be issued to fully fund this task order. The Intelligent Systems Research and Development Support (ISRDS) contract numberNNA08CG83C was made on a competitive basis.
