Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) -Iowa City, is soliciting and intends to award a firm fixed price contract for Architecture/Engineering (A/E) services entitled, "A/E to Renovate Basement Blood Draw" at the VAMC in Iowa City, IA. NAICS Code 541310, size standard $4.5 million. The scope of work for this project shall include but not be limited to the design services for the renovation of approximately 3,800 GSF of existing space in the Basement Blood Draw Area of Building 1. The design will result in the renovation of the existing Basement Blood Draw Area to allow the 1st Floor Blood Draw area to consolidate with the Basement Blood Draw area. The A/E contract will include investigative services, services for design of architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical systems (with reviews); reproduction of bid documents; construction period services; final inspections and as-built drawings. The design will require evaluation of the current mechanical and electrical and structural systems to meet the requirements of the design. Construction will require phasing to sequence several moves involving personnel and equipment. The firm selected will provide a bid package that includes contract documents with all required specifications, architectural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems plans. In performance of this work, the A/E must engage the services of a third-party Fire Protection Engineer. The person assigned as the Fire Protection Engineer must be clearly identified in Section E of the SF 330. The estimated construction cost range is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00. Area of consideration: prime A/E firm must be within a 150 mile radius of the VAMC, 601 Highway 6 West, Iowa City, IA 52246. Please submit your qualifications and past performance data on the SF 330 (architecture-engineer qualifications); and for any consultants to be used, on the SF 330 Sections E and F.
