- Description
- PROPOSERS' DAY CONFERENCE DARPA will host a Proposers' Day Workshop in support of DARPA-BAA-10-48, Sferics-Based Underground Geopositioning (S-BUG) program on March 16, 2010 at Schafer Corporation, 3811 Fairfax Drive, Ste. 400, Arlington, VA 22203 from 10:00 to 5:00. The purpose of this conference is to provide information on the S-BUG program, promote additional discussion on this topic, address questions from potential proposers, and provide a forum for potential proposers to present their capabilities for teaming opportunities. PROGRAM OBJECTIVE AND DESCRIPTION: The objective of the S-BUG program is to develop and demonstrate a mapping and navigation system that provides Global Positioning System (GPS) equivalent accuracy in underground environments. The program will investigate innovative approaches that enable revolutionary and fundamental advances in the use of natural and manmade signals-of-opportunity as the basis for geopositioning. The Proposer's Day does not constitute a formal solicitation for proposals or proposal abstracts. Attendance is voluntary and is not required to propose to any potential related Broad Agency Announcements or potential research solicitations on this topic. DARPA will not provide reimbursement for any costs incurred to participate in this Proposer's Day. DARPA-BAA-10-48 is pending release. When released, the BAA will be found on the FedBizOpps website, http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. REGISTRATION INFORMATION: Participants must register NLT March 12, 2010 at the following website: http://www.schafertmd.com/SBUG. Directions to the facility and other materials are also available on the website. There is no registration fee for attending this conference. Due to space limitations of the conference facility, attendance will be limited to the first 40 registrants, and no more than 2 representatives per organization. All US Citizens are required to submit a US Citizenship Verification form in order to attend this conference. Non-US citizens are required to submit a DARPA Form 60 "Foreign National Visit Request." The completed Citizenship Form or DARPA Form 60 must be faxed to: Nadia Murphy, Schafer Corporation, fax (703) 516-6065, or emailed to nadia.murphy.ctr@darpa.mil, no later than March 12, 2010. Both forms are available for download on the registration web site. The Proposers' Day will include both unclassified and classified (Secret level) sessions. All attendees wishing to attend the classified portions of the day will need to submit a Visit Request to Schafer Corporation, following the instructions available for download on the registration website, no later than 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2010. Additionally, all attendees will be required to present government issued photo identification upon entry to the event. Attendance is not required to propose to any associated BAA. Additionally, attendees who would like to present company overviews, discuss their technology expertise, and/or discuss teaming opportunities in scheduled presentations at the conference may request to do so. Presentations may contain 5 slides and are limited to five (5) minutes each (including logistical issues). Time slots will be assigned in the order they are requested, and may not be available for everyone due to time constraints. Proposers desiring to reserve a time to present at the Proposers' Day Conference should contact Nadia Murphy or sign up on the registration website as soon as possible, but no later than the registration cut-off date for the Proposers' Day Conference. All material to be displayed at the conference must be approved in advance by both the organization that funded the research and the DARPA Program Manager. The DARPA Program Manager will screen the proposed material for sensitive but unclassified material and approve in advance any presentations. It is the presenter's responsibility to ensure that all material they plan to present at the Proposers' Day Conference has been approved by the funding organization in advance. An electronic copy of all material to be presented must be provided to the DARPA Program Manager for review by COB March 12, 2010 at DARPA-BAA-10-48@darpa.mil. There will be no exceptions to this requirement. Unclassified materials displayed at the conference will be made available on the registration site following the conference.
