Description
The National Park Service, Lassen Volcanic National Park, has a requirement for 1,200 tons of fine grained volcanic rock (medium to fine grade basalt ), angular building stone to be used in the rehabilitation of the retaining walls on the Lassen Peak Trail. Vascular basalt is unacceptable as it un-expectantly breaks in random undesirable directions when shaping. Stone should be predominantly gray in color (with 50% of reddish tones also being acceptable and preferred) and weigh between 150 - 300 lbs each. A maximum of 50% of the material shall weigh between 200- 300lbs with the other 50% weighing between 150- 199lbs. Color tones should be divided between specified weights listed (1/2 of total between 200- 300lbs being gray in color and 1/2 having reddish tones- and the same for the smaller stones, material 150- 199lbs- 1/2 shall be gray in color and 1/2 having reddish tones), must be angular buildable stone. As part of the park's Best Management Practices for preventing the spread of exotic plants within the park, the Resource Management staff needs to visually inspect each quarry before delivery to assure stone is acceptable building material and that the rock has been recently quarried and washed to assure no invasive plant species are introduced into the park, located within Lassen Volcanic National Park as specified in RFQ No. Q8400100020. The NAICS code is 212311. This project is funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and the contractor must meet all reporting requirements as prescribed in FAR 52.204-11. The Contractor shall report the required information using the online reporting tool available at www.FederalReporting.gov. The RFQ is available via www.fbo.gov by using the "quick search" feature at this website and entering the RFQ number, which is Q8400100020. Click through the links to additional information which will lead you to the IDEAS-EC NBC website (blue & white in color).
