- THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT, NOT A REQUEST FOR A PROPOSAL. A SOLICITATION DOCUMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED AND PROPOSALS WILL NOT BE REQUESTED. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI), on behalf of the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal, and Skin Diseases (NIAMS) to negotiate with Gatan Inc., 5794 West Las Positas Blvd., Pleasanton, California, 94588-4083 to purchase a preventative maintenance plan. The following line items will continue to be serviced and maintained. Line item 1 – Part # 794.P16CK3BP Multiscan camera Line item 2 – Part # 795.P27FABP Multiscan camera Line item 3 – Part # 850.P23F1BPP GIF detector Line item 4 – Part # 894.20U.2 Ultrascan camera Line item 5 – Part # 850.3K GIF Detector There will be no break in service; therefore, no pre-maintenance inspection. The period of performance is a base period of one (1) year, April 1, 2010 –March 31, 2011, and one (1) option year period, April 1, 2011 – March 31, 2012. Gatan Inc., is the manufacturer with no service distributors; therefore, only the manufacturer’s certified technician is authorized to perform preventative maintenance service. The solicitation/contract will include all applicable provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-38 (February 1, 2010). The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 811219 and the business size standard is $7.0 million dollars. This acquisition is being conducted using Simplified Acquisition Procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13. Responses must include in their quotation, the unit price, the list price, shipping and handling costs, the delivery period after contract award, the prompt payment discount terms, the F.O.B. Point (Destination or Origin), the Dun & Bradstreet Number (DUNS), the Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), and the certification of business size. Responses to this announcement, referencing synopsis number NHLBI-PB-(AR)-2010-109-MLK may be submitted to the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, Office of Acquisitions, Procurement Branch, 6701 Rockledge Drive, Suite 6151, Bethesda, Maryland 20892-7902, Attention Margo Katzper. Proposals are due March 22, 2010 by 9:00 a.m., Eastern Time. Response may be submitted electronically to mkatzper@nhlbi.nih.gov. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this notice.
