- DESCRIPTION: Contractor to provide all preventive maintenance on said Applied Biosystems systems as owned by VA Connecticut. Maintenance will include all travel, all supply, all labor, and all parts known to have any suspicion of problems. Maintenance will be conducted according to the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) requirements as stated in the manufacturers manuals, on the devices proper care and servicing. All service is to be pre-scheduled to have minimal impact on existing Medical Laboratory functions. All persons servicing the device shall be able to provide proof of competency, as shown by training conducted on said Applied Biosystems system. Proof shall be provided upon demand, and be immediately sent via fax upon demand. It is anticipated that any hospital inspections ( CAP, JCAH, etc.) will have the vendor providing proof that they meet industry standards of quality, and traceable standards, as used to calibrate this device-system; at the time of the maintenance event. Technicians servicing the system will be able to provide proof that they meet the standards of Information Security as required of all systems service in a Federal Government facility. Also vendor will provide all servicing to restore the full use of the device, if there are any breakdowns in function. All repairs are to be physically started within 12 hours of notification, and completed within 24 hours. All software updates and upgrades will be provided by the vendor when they are released by the OEM. Installation will be scheduled and completed within two weeks of the software update-upgrade being available. Service is to be requested and coordinated only through the Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR), so as to be assured that it is covered within the scope of the contract, and so that records are available for inspection by accrediting organizations. Any services not coordinated by the COTR will not be considered completed, and will be considered to fail to meet the terms of the contract. The "IV Services" vendor must comply with all applicable standards established by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JC). The "IV Services" vendor staff, affiliate personnel, and any others providing services will be properly trained and credentialed and properly reviewed according to the requirements set forth by JC.
