Description
Rough Drawings The purpose of this amendment is to provide answers to questions that have been asked and to modify the CLIN descriptions accordingly. 1) Please clarify shipping instruction for these doors. Our doors come packaged up in a wooden crates laying horizontal in crates, having them stand upright is not a safe standard for shipping. - Answer: The contractor will be required to package and ship the doors according to standard commercial practices to ensure safety. The proposed method of shipping as described above is acceptable. Crating or palletizing are acceptable methods of packaging. 2) Also clarify "doors will be mounted in wooden framed walls". - Answer: No, Steel frames, solicitation has been corrected accordingly. 3) Do you have a drawing for this door, or where I can go to get a drawing of a previous door made? - Answer: No. 4) I am not sure what is meant by "All doors will be mounted in wooden framed walls." If this is for final installation then a fire rated door does not make sense, or is this for packing only, can you please confirm what is meant by "All doors will be mounted in wooden framed walls"? - Answer: No, Steel frames, solicitation has been corrected accordingly. 5) CLIN 0001- Are the hinges supposed to be 4.5"x 4.5" NOT 4.5"x 4.0" as stated? - Answer: Correction, for each door government requires 3 hinges with the dimensions 1-1/2 inch wide x 4 1/2 inch long 6) CLIN 0001- Are the doors and frames made from cold rolled steel NOT galvanized? - Answer: Cold Rolded Steel 7) CLIN 0001- Is the 4" jamb the "THROAT" size or the overall size? - Answer: Yes 8) CLIN 0001- The 40"x 82.5" overall door and frame represents a 3-0 x 6-8 door with 2" face on the jambs is this correct? - Answer: Yes, 40" x 82.5" rough opening flanged door. 9) CLIN 0002 - Are the hinges supposed to be 4.5"x 4.5" NOT 4.5"x 4.0" as stated? - See answer 5. 10) CLIN 0002 - Are the doors and frames made from cold rolled steel NOT galvanized? - See answer 6. 11) CLIN 0002 - Is the 30.75" door really a 2-6 x 6-8 door NOT a 2-7 x 6-8 door as stated? - 35 x 82 ½ rough opening flanged door. 12) Rough Drawings have been attached. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation is being issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ); solicitation number is H92244-10-T-0113. A firm fixed price contract is contemplated. In this solicitation document, the incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-38 effective 1 February 2010. North American Industrial Classification Code (NAICS) 332321 with a standard business size of 500 Employees applies to this procurement. This procurement is set-aside for small business concerns. The DPAS rating for this procurement is DO-09. All responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency. The contractor shall provide a proposal using the attached bid schedule in Section B. Section B Schedule of Supplies and Services CLIN 0001, 40 Inch Steel Doors. The contractor shall provide right handed "A" class doors and frames, pre-hung, flanged made from cold rolled steel, primed and painted, BB hinges, with a door lock set at 40" x 82.5". Hinges - for each door government requires 3 hinges with the dimensions 1-1/2 inch wide x 4 1/2 inch long std. Wt. St. stl. Bb hinges. Lock set - ML 9956 dorma mortise lock with ¾" latch bolt, 32D finish. Frames - made from 16 gauge steel, right hand, with a 4" jamb, frame dimensions 35 ¾" x 80 3/8" (W x H). Door - made from 16 gauge steel, at 1 ¾" thick, with door dimensions 35 ½" x 79 ¾" (W x H). The 40 inch steel door refers to the width of the door and frame combined. Doors are required to be built in accordance with USCG 46 CFR and the Navigation and Circulation Specifications Circular (NVIC) No. 9-97 due to the government's requirement to procure marine doors, Qty: 32, Unit of Issue: Each; CLIN 0002, 35 Inch Steel Doors. Doors are required to be built in accordance with USCG 46 CFR and the Navigation and Circulation Specifications Circular (NVIC) No. 9-97 due to the government's requirement to procure marine doors, Qty: 32, Unit of Issue: Each; Special Shipping and Delivery Instructions: The contractor will be required to package and ship the doors accocrding to standard commercial practices to ensure safety. All doors are pre-hung (meaning frames included). All doors will be mounted in steel framed walls. Doors shall be delivered on standard pallets (about 4'x4'; they should be standing upright and wrapped in plastic to hold them together. All items will be handled with a forklift so anything that is improperly packaged will not be acceptable. Doors shall be wrapped in plastic and palletized for delivery. Delivery: TBD.
