Description
The contractor is to furnish all materials, labor and equipment necessary to fabricate, paint and deliver a new set of lock stoplogs and two pickup beams to the Demopolis Lock Dam located dear Demopolis, AL on the Tombigbee River. A total of 7 stoplogs shall be fabricated. Five 5 regular stoplogs are required and weigh approximately 60,826 pounds each. Two 2 special stoplogs are required and weigh approximately 68,700 pounds each. Each stoplog is approximately 115 feet long, 4 feet high and 11.5 feet deep. Two 2 pickup beams are required and weight approximately 27,000 pounds each. The solicitation will only be issued as a direct download at the following website: https://www.fbo.gov, on or about 19-March-2010. The contractors, subcontractors and suppliers must be registered in Federal Business Opportunities before they will be allowed to download the solicitation information. The solicitation will not be provided in a printed paper format. Therefore, it is the offerors responsibility to check the website for solicitation posting and any changes to this solicitation. Those registering are responsible for the accuracy of the information provided. All questions regarding this notice should be addressed to carl.m.wade@usace.army.mil. Individual visits to the Demopolis Site will be allowed. However, technical questions regarding the solicitation specification will not be accommodated. All questions should be submitted in writing to carl.m.wade@usace.army.mil. The purpose of the site visit should be to assess the delivery location and any need for offloading equipment.
