- The Naval Surface Warfare Center - Panama City, Panama City, Florida intends to issue a sole source purchase order to Crest Ultrasonics, P.O. Box 7266, Trenton, NJ 08628 for the acquisition of an ultrasonic cleaning system (p/n OCU-1014-HE) and support equipment consisting of an ultrasonic wash, an ultrasonic immersion rinse, an immersion rinse, and a re-circulating hot air dryer. The ultrasonic cleaning system will be used to clean underwater breathing apparatus (UBA) components. This procurement is sole source for the following reasons. The new cleaning system will replace a system that is 20+ years old and is failing. Being a 'built-in' system, it is critical that all parts, interfaces, and system components of the new ultrasonic cleaning system are identical to the system currently in use. The primary purpose of the cleaning system will be to clean the MK 16 UBA, a critical life support system. Use of an alternate cleaning system to interface with current piping, electrical loads and interfaces, and output requirements may introduce new or change existing parameters that may be harmful to the user of the MK 16 UBA. Therefore it is imperative that this critical life support equipment is acquired from CREST Ultrasonics immediately. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. FSC Code: 9999. NAICS Code: 333319.
