- This is not a solicitation announcement. This is a sources sought synopsis only for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) and Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB). Winston Salem Industry for the Blind has submitted a request for eyeglasses currently provided by commercial contract to be added to the AbilityOne Procurement List. Public Law 109-461 and Veterans Administration Acquisition Regulations 819.7004 mandates consideration be given to SDVOSB and VOSB contractors prior to addition of requirement to the AbilityOne Procurement List. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (small veteran owned business or service disabled veteran owned small business) relative to NACIS 446130 (size standard of $7 Million). Responses to this synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not considered responses to any potential solicitation announcement. The James A. Haley VA Hospital, Tampa, FL is seeking business sources for a potential contract to provide prescription eyeglasses and associated optical dispensary services onsite at the James A. Haley Hospital. All interested firms shall provide the following information: company name, address, point of contact, phone number, email address, business capabilities to provide the requested product and services, and size of business pursuant to the following questions: (1) Is your business small (2) Is your firm a certified Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, (3) Is your firm a certified Veteran Owned Small Business? Responses to this notice shall be e-mailed or faxed to the attention of Charlene K. Stiens, Contracting Officer, VHA Service Area Office East, Acquisition Service Area Office 8 (ASAO 8), Tampa, FL 33612; FAX 813-979-3637; E-mail address: Charlene.Stiens@va.gov. Telephone responses will not be accepted. Responses must be received in writing no later than 2:00 p.m. EDT March 30, 2010. This notice is to assist the VA in determining sources only. A solicitation is not currently available. If a solicitation is issued it will be announced at a later date, and all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement. Responses to this sources sought is not a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of the solicitation.
