- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation on a "Brand Name or Equal" basis for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This procurement is not a small business set-aside; any responsible source may submit an offer. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a quote is being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. AGENCY'S NEEDS:Item No. 0001, Drapes, Qty: 1 LotGeneric Description: a.Wall mounted. b.Black out lining.c.Pinch pleated draperies manufactured with three finger pleats.d.Manufactured with 2-1 (100%) fullness. Multi width draperies are joined with over-locked stitching. e.Draperies are manufactured using half widths or whole widths with the half width being sewn on the return side. All seams are hidden behind the pleat. f.Patterns are commercially pattern matched.g.Draperies are sized according to specifications with tolerances of +/- " in length and +/- 1" in width. h.Headings are 4" double wrapped around permanent buckram.i.Bottom hems are 4" double for lined draperies, blind stitched.j.Side hems are 1 " double hems blind stitched.k.Linings are joined by over-locking and have a 1 3/4" bottom hem.l.Linings are finished 1" - 2" above the finished length of the drapery.m.Covered weights are sewn in at the corners.n.Batons to open and close with stiffener sewn into leading edge of draperies.o.Fablic - inherently flame retardant, based on durability and safety, 100% polyester, or equal.p.Hardware and installation equipment required.q. The salient physical, functional, or performance characteristics that "equal" products must meet are specified in the solicitation.(b) To be considered for award, offers of "equal" products, including "equal" products of the brand name manufacturer, must--(1) Meet the salient physical, functional, or performance characteristic specified in this solicitation;(2) Clearly identify the item by--(i) Brand name, if any; and(ii) Make or model number;(3) Include descriptive literature such as illustrations, drawings, or a clear reference to previously furnished descriptive data or information available to the Contracting Officer; and(4) Clearly describe any modifications the offeror plans to make in a product to make it conform to the solicitation requirements.
