Brand Name Justification Brand name justification Solicitation Number: NFU00000081 Notice Type: Combined Synopsis/Solicitation SYNOPSIS: This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is NFU00000081 and is a Request for Quotations (RFQ). This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-38. This acquisition is unrestricted set-aside acquisition for Fed Biz Ops. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 332994, Small Arms Manufacturing, and the size standard is 1000. The Government anticipates awarding one firm fixed price purchase order for this item. Award will be made to the responsible Offeror, whose offer conforming to the solicitation is the lowest price, technically acceptable offer. (1) TECHNICAL ACCEPTABILITY. Provide documentation that shows the product offered is the brand name and part number required; Sig P229 13 round magazines, Part number 34280222. The brand name justification is attached as required by FAR 5.102(a) (6) and FAR 13.501(a) (ii). (2) PRICE. The firm fixed price shall include shipping/delivery charges - FOB Destination. This acquisition is for 4954 each, Sig P229 13 round magazines, Part number 34280222. Only factory original parts are authorized for use in Sig Sauer handguns. Product warranties provided by Sig are only valid if their handguns are kept factory original with genuine Sig parts. A brand name justification is posted as an attachment to this public posting. The award will be issued using Simplified Acquisition Procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13. Vendors must include delivery times with their quote. Delivery to: DHS ICE National Firearms and Tactical Training Unit (NFTTU) Attn: J. David Davis, 320 E. Chestnut Avenue, Altoona, Pa 16601. The Government desires delivery of magazines no later than 90 days ARO, and anticipates awarding a purchase order for these magazines on or about middle of April 2010. Inspection and Acceptance shall be at destination. Faxed and e-mailed quotes will be accepted. Faxed quotes may be sent to the attention of Mario Curiel at 214-905-5568 and e-mailed quotes may be sent to mario.curiel@dhs.gov. Contractors are responsible for verifying receipt of their quotes. All responsible sources interested in responding to this RFQ must respond no later than 3:00 PM Central Standard Time on April 2, 2010. FAR 52.252-2 Clauses Incorporated by Reference (Feb 1998). This contract incorporates one or more clauses by reference, with the same force and effect as if they were given in full text.
