Description
This is not a request for either a quote or proposal, or an invitation for bid. The intent of this pre-solicitation synopsis is to identify potential offerors for RM171-03, Design-Build Repairs to Runway 5L/23R, Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia Beach, Virginia This contract will include the following scope of work: The PCC (Portland Cement Concrete) sections R5L-1/1A/4/4A will receive crack repairs, partial and full depth patching, isolated full slab replacement and joint sealing where required. Asphalt surfaced sections R5L-2/2A/3/3A will have 2 inches milled, and repaved. R5L-4/4A, the northern portion of R5L-2/2A and the center 4 slabs of R5L-1/1A will be entirely reconstructed with 13" PCC. Blast Pavement sections BP5L-1, BP5L-2 and BP23R-1 will receive crack repairs, partial and full depth patching, isolated full slab replacement and joint sealing where required. PCC blast pavement BP23R-2 will be entirely reconstructed. Asphalt surfaced section BP23R-3 will have 2 inches milled and repaved. Hold Areas HA5L-1 and HA23R-1 are PCC features that will be completely reconstructed. Overrun Area OA5L-1 will receive crack repairs, partial and full depth patching, and joint sealing where required. Overrun Area OA5L-2 will have asphalt cracks patched, and a seal coat applied. The Impact 440 rubber arresting gear pendant slabs will be replaced with steel plates. Rubber buildup in the touchdown zones will be removed. Pavement markings will be renewed following the repairs. The turf shoulders of the runway and blast pavements will be re-grades where necessary for proper drainage. The existing asphalt vehicle access pavements at the arresting gear and IFLOLS (Improved Fresnel Lens Optical Landing System) pads will be expanded. The DRAFT drawings and specifications for this project are posted with the pre-solicitation synopsis for review and comments from interested parties.
