- NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC) plans to issue an Invitation for Bid (IFB), forthe new Central Office Building at NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC), Cleveland, Ohio. THEBASE CONTRACT WORK CONSISTS OF THE FOLLOWING: Construction of a new 90,000+ GSF officebuilding facility to replace an existing non- efficient facility. The new CentralizedOffice Building at NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC), Cleveland, Ohio will be located onan existing parking lot site on the GRC campus. The work consists of the construction ofa new three story steel structure that contains open office areas; private offices;conference and work rooms; a conferencing center; a high-ceiling 400 person multi-useauditorium; two mechanical penthouses; a green roof and observation deck; and typicalsupport spaces. The interiors are consistent with modern open office architecture withstandard finishes. The exterior is clad in masonry, painted metal panels, andtransparent glazing curtain wall systems. Fenestration is insulated glass with frit andopaque spandrel glass.Support facility construction shall include: the removal ofexisting paved surfaces; site preparation; rammed piers for foundation support; curbs androadways; parking areas; pedestrian walkways; fencing; landscaping. Supporting utilitiesto the site include the extension of potable water; non potable chilled water from anexisting chilled water plant; natural gas; sanitary and storm sewers; high voltageelectrical cable through new and existing underground duct bank; new data andcommunications duct bank. This project, as designed, is required to be LEED GoldCertifiable under the USGBC LEED-NC Rating System. The estimated value of this work isbetween $10,000,000.00 and $25,000.000.00. Option 1: Installation of the North-Eastparking lot per the Statement of Work (SOW). Option 2:Furnish/install parking lotlighting per SOW. Option 3: Auditorium building shell per SOW. Option 4: Auditoriuminterior build out per SOW. Option 5: Furnish/install garden roof plaza per SOW. Option6: Furnish/install offsite chilled water piping per SOW. Option 7: Furnish/install Carpettiles per SOW. Option 8: Interior painting per SOW. Option 9: Upgrade electrical branchcircuits per SOW. Option 10: Upgrade to welded steel piping for all pipe diameter equalto or greater than 4 per SOW. Option 11: Furnish/install Interior finish upgrades perSOW. Option 12: Rooftop backup generator per SOW. The award of a single FIRM FIXED PRICE(FFP) CONTRACT is contemplated. The options will be priced separately. The North AmericanIndustry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 236220 (Commercial and InstitutionalBuilding Construction Contractors) with Small Business Size Standard of $33.5 million.This is an UNRESTRICTED PROCUREMENT, FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION.
