- This is not a solicitation, but rather a Request For Information (RFI). The U.S. Army Base at Fort Jackson, South Carolina is seeking sources with the capability to provide bus transportation services from Fort Jackson Army Base to the following locations: Charleston, SC, Myrtle Beach, SC, Concord, NC, and Atlanta, GA and could include other locations within a 250 mile radius. Bus transportation service is needed to provide round trip bus service from a location on Fort Jackson Army Base, Fort Jackson, SC to any of the locations listed above. The contractor shall pick-up passengers from a specified location on Fort Jackson Army Base and drop off the passengers at the specified location. The contractor shall pick-up the passengers from the drop-off location and transport the passengers back to Fort Jackson Army Base. The contractor will not be required to provide in-and -round transportation or spend the night at the drop-off locations. This is strictly a drop off and pick up requirement. The Government is seeking Small Businesses within the Columbia, South Carolina area. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 487990 with a small business size standard of $7.0 million. Interested parties are responsible for adequately marking proprietary or competition sensitive information contained in their response. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or to otherwise pay for the information submitted in response to this RFI. Interested parties are requested to provide information on their ability to satisfy any or all of the requirements outlined above. The Contracting Officer is interested in contractors, business size standards and overall capability to successfully provide the required services. Information should be provided by electronic mail to Contract Specialist, Mshindi Thomas at mshindi.y.thomas@us.army.mil the following subject line Bus Transportation Services. This RFI is for planning purposes only and shall not be considered as an invitation for bid, request for quotation, request for proposal, or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any products or services. Responses to this RFI will be treated as information only. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of contractor submission of responses to this announcement or the Government use of such information. No funds have been authorized, appropriated, or received for this effort. The information provided may be used by the Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC) Directorate of Contracting (DOC), Fort Jackson, in developing its acquisition strategy, and market research report. The deadline for submission of the RFI is 29 March 2010 at 12:00 pm.
