RECOVERY TAS::14 1041::TAS NAMA PMIS # 150359 - Restore DC War MemorialSUBJECT TO THE AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT (ARRA) OF 2009THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. This opportunity is only being offered to contractors awarded indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contracts under a competitive acquisition by the National Park Service. The IDIQ contracts are for construction services for repair and maintenance of historic stone masonry and concrete throughout Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia. The IDIQ contractors are The Christman Company (Contract No. C2000091300), Firvida Construction Company (Contract No. C2000093000), Forrester Construction Company (Contract No. C2000093300), Conservation Solutions, Inc. (Contract No. C2000093400), Preservation Trades Company (Contract No. C2000093500), and Worcester Eisenbrandt Construction (Contract No. C2000093700).The project restores the District of Columbia War Memorial (DC War Memorial) and performs sitework restoration and rehabilitation, including new stone sidewalks. This project includes construction with incidental design services by completing the Final Construction Drawings and the construction services to restore the District of Columbia World War Memorial (DC War Memorial) and landscape. Schematic Design and Design Development drawing have been completed. This project generally addresses the following items: Renew or redesign storm water drainage systems; Rehab downspouts and drainage piping; Replace gutters and flashing above gutters; Map and restore site drainage; Remove non-historic plants and alignments; Trim trees and plantings; Replace failing sidewalks; Replace the cove lighting so that the quality of light is more sympathetic with the original design intent; Rebalance the counterweighted marble ceiling access panel; Clean and repair the drains, dry brush and point the brick, and repair the wire screens at the air vents within the attic space; Perform masonry restoration and maintenance of stone assemblies (various masonry repairs, pin repairs, tuckpointing, grout injections, tooling, etc.); Clean all marble using chemical and water treatments and controlled, mildly abrasive treatments and methods to remove calcium carbonate deposits; Replace the electrical panel box, replace all circuit wiring, add receptacles for use as a bandstand (its original function) and add telephone service within the vault beneath the memorial; Create an access panel in the north wall and install a code compliant door. Replicate the original decorative floor access panel and replace in the center of the memorial. Develop a maintenance manual for the Memorial and site. The Government anticipates soliciting this work approximately March 23, 2010. Selection of the successful contractor for this task order will be based on the evaluation factors in the IDIQ contract and specific evaluation factors in the request for proposals for this order.The NAICS Code is 238140.
