Description
Under Statutory Authority 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), the VA Great Lakes Acquisition Center anticipates entering into sole source procurement negotiations with Medrad, Inc., Indianola, PA for Stellant Dual Head CT Injector which is both FDA approved and compatible with the existing equipment at the Tomah VA Medical Center located in Tomah, Wisconsin. The product provided by Medrad Inc is the only Stellant Dual Head CT Injector which is the first Injector worldwide to feature and be FDA approved for P3T-patient weight based Cardiac Imaging. The Medrad Stellant Dual Head CT Injector with P3T Proprietary and Protected Software now mandates that the clinical staff enter each specific cardiac patient's weight, contrast concentration, scan duration and max flow rate. Once the individual parameters are entered, the protocol will be automatically calculated to maximize cardiac enhancement throughout all cardiac structures. This is the first and only CT Contrast Injector in the world to feature patient weight based specific dosing protocols-maximizing enhancement and patient safety. This announcement is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-1. The above authority is cited and justification made based on the determination that the Government's minimum needs can best be satisfied by supplies available from one source. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Other persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by March 26, 2010 by 4:00 PM CST. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirement. All interest received on or before March 26, 2010 will be evaluated by the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitations documents are available and telephone requests will not be honored.
