Description

RECOVERY – THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. This notice is issued in accordance with the guidance for the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 and FAR Subpart 5.705. Contract Number SB1341-07-CQ-0016, Task Order Number 69225 was awarded to Merrick and Company of Aurora, CO on July 10, 2009 in the amount of $455,379.00. Modification T001 was executed on January 28, 2010. Work under Task Order Number 69225 will develop and deliver a detailed design for the upgrade of the plumbing system of the thermal shield at the NIST/Center for Neutron Research. The upgrade requires that cooling water be administered by moving it through the shield using a vacuum rather than a positive pump pressure, as in the present mechanical configuration. Modification T002 shall be executed to extend the period of performance, and incorporate a training requirement. The period of performance shall be changed as follows: FROM: July 10, 2009 through April 14, 2010; TO: July 10, 2009 through May 24, 2010. The Department of Commerce (DOC)/Inspector General (IG) requires that all Contractors who receive or have received contracts/ orders funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), train their employees on fraud, waste and abuse and be provided a copy of power point presentation developed by the DOC/OIG. This requirement will be incorporated via this modification. The total amount of the Task Order shall remain unchanged at $503,177.00. In accordance with FAR 16.505(b)(2)(iii), this modification is being executed against a task order awarded on a sole-source basis in the interest of economy and efficiency because it is a logical follow-on to an order already issued under the contract and all awardees were given a fair opportunity to be considered for the original order.
