Description
The USPS is seeking to obtain information on potential strategic sources to acquire an inserter machine for use in fulfillment of orders.The inserter will be utilized for the rapid fulfillment of items such as booklet panes, stamp panes, Commemorative Panels, Collection Pages, Cancellation Pages and Products. Currently Stamp Fulfillment Services utilizes three different inserter machines to fulfill orders. The current machines do not meet the needs of all current fulfillment activities. The USPS wants to add a state-of-the-art unit to complement its present equipment by enhancing current activities for manufacturing and fulfillment activities. At a minimum, the inserter must accomplish the following functional requirements:: 1.Throughput of at least 7,200 (single feed) and 6,000 (multiple feeds) per hour 2.Bar Code Reader – Required to read order fulfillment information. 3.Multiple friction feeders and multiple rotary feeders with the ability to feed multiples items 4.Offer split-drive technology to allow multiple feeds from one feeder. 5.Smallest size item to insert 1 ¾ “ x 3 ¼” 6.Largest size item to insert 9 ½” x 12 ¼” At a minimum, the inserter must accomplish the following equipment requirements:: 1. Equipment must be new 2.Option for support during business hours with a response time of four (2) hours. 3.Supplier must furnish all technical drawings and all software source code at the time of acceptance test. Additional requirements include but are not limited to Technical Service, Training, System Interface, Warranty requirements and more. The respondents to this Sources Sought are reminded that responses to this notice are not considered offers and will not be accepted by the Postal Service to form a binding contract. In addition, the Postal Service will not incur any monetary obligation associated with this Sources Notice or any responses thereto.
