Description
The U.S. Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center, Small Boat Product Line, has a requirement to procure services to perform electrical system upgrades on (25) 47’ Motor Life Boats (MLBs) at 18 different Coast Guard locations. The upgrades are to be accomplished in accordance with Coast Guard specifications. Services include the modification of the 47’ MLB electrical system; removal of existing LaMarche battery charger; removal of existing Sea Power generators, converters, junction boxes & power control modules; installation of two new Balmar 24V DC alternators; installation of two isolator/regulator/centerfielder panels; installation of two (2) new Victron Phoenix inverter/chargers; and wiring modifications to the 24VDC and 120VAC power systems to accommodate the installation of new alternators and inverter/chargers and replacing the Start and Service batteries with AGM type batteries. The alternators must be Balmar part number 9624-220. The inverter must be by Microtech Electronics Inc. part number 24/3000/70. No replacements or substitutes for these parts will be accepted. The awarded Contractor shall be required to provide all labor and materials to perform all requirements outlined in Coast Guard specifications. All responsible sources are welcome to submit a quotation, which, if timely received, shall be considered by the Agency. Request for Quotation Number HSCG40-10-Q-50018, including all related specifications and drawings, shall be available for download from FedBizOpps (www.eps.gov) on or about April 29, 2010. This date is estimated at best. The closing date for receipt of quotes is contingent upon the release of the RFQ package. It is anticipated to award a Requirements-type contract consisting of one base year and four option years as a result of this solicitation. This acquisition is being solicited as a total small business set-aside. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 811310. The successful offeror is required to perform at least 51 percent of the contract, not including the cost of materials, with its own employees.
