- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisitions Regulations (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is being issued as a Request for Quote under the number RFQP04071000008. This solicitation document, incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-39. The full text may be accessed electronically at: www.acquisition.gov/far.This solicitation is restricted to 100% Small Business, FOB Destination. The contract type is a firm-fixed price contract with firm-fixed unit prices. The Government reserves the right to make formal single or multiple awards. The award(s) will be made to the responsible offeror(s) who submit(s) the most advantageous quote to the Government based on price related factors only. All responsible small business concerns may submit a quote which will be considered. Faith-based and Community-based organizations can submit offers/bids/quotations equally with other organizations for contracts, for which they are eligible. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this solicitation is 611513. A.1.1 BACKGROUND The Federal Correctional Institution (FCI), Greenville, Illinois plans to award a single contract for the purchase of computer based interactive training applications compatible with Microsoft Office on a LAN/WAN Network. The application should apply to fundamentals, electrical systems, air conditioning and refrigeration. The courses should enhance their apprenticeship training in electrical maintenance, heating and air conditioning. The software purchase should provide technical support and coverage for new software releases, updates, patches and enhancements. The Government reserves the right to award without discussion, therefore, each initial offer should contain the offeror's best terms from a price standpoint. A.1.2 SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS Software must be compatible with Windows XP for minimum computer requirements. Installation on a local area network or wide area network with licenses for multiple workstations. Provide comprehensive self-checks and progress reports to assist student in understanding the subject matter. Provide Pre- and Post-Tests to support the course work. Provide the student the ability to leave the course and return to where the student left off. Provide written or printable study guides. The following applications are required, but may be expanded.
