- Description
- The Directorate of Contracting issued a delivery order against an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity Contract, Contract Number W91248-08-D-0001 with Rogers Group, Inc, Hopkinsville, KY 42241. The requirement is for the contractor to mill to a depth of 1-1/2 inches where indicated on the drawings. Apply prime coat, place and compact 1-1/2 inch thick asphalt binder layer. Apply tack coat, apply 1-1/2 inch thick asphalt surface layer. Mill edge keys at intersecting taxiways where necessary to ensure the transition does not exceed a longitudinal slope of 1 percent. The tie-ins to transition into existing Runway 5/23 shall be adjusted to maintain the existing grade profile and cross section. The estimated quantity for the milling of 1-1/2 inches and placing the two 1-1/2 inch thick asphalt layers is 74,162 square yards. At the 18 and 36 ends, mill to a depth of 1-1/2 inches. Place tack coat, place and compact 1-1/2 inch thick asphalt surface layer. Provide edge key where necessary to ensure transition matches to existing profile. The estimated quantity for these areas is 8,470 square yards. Place centerline striping, shoulder stripes, fixed distance markings, designation numbers, threshold markings, and arrows in accordance with UFC 3-260-05A 16 January 2004. Approximate quantities are 44,522 square feet of new marking applications. Contractor shall prepare and submit asphalt mix design according to UFGS Specification 32 12 15 Hot Mix Asphalt for Airfields, for 75 gyration super pave gyratory compaction. Contractor shall conduct quality control testing and monitoring, and shall submit all information. The delivery order will be funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
