Description

This acquisition is conducted under the authority of the Multiple Award Schedule Program (Title III of the Federal Property and Administrative Services Act of 1949 (41 U.S.C. 251, et seq.) and Title 40 U.S.C. 501, Services for Executive Agencies). Authority to limit sources to less than those required by FAR 8.405-1 and 8.405-2 is found at FAR 8.405-6. The justification for limiting sources is that Microsoft is the only publisher of SharePoint Server licenses required for use on the U.S. Joint Forces Command network. SharePoint provides the Joint Systems Integration Center (JSIC), within USJFCOM, the required capability to search multiple databases simultaneously, index documents, and classify data for future use. It utilizes semantic-based search capabilities to derive more meaningful and direct search results. JSIC currently uses other versions of Microsoft SharePoint products. Purchasing the Microsoft SharePoint Server licenses will provide consistency of programming and operation in the development process.
