Description

Invitation for Bid (Includes project specifications) The project is a 5.847 mile road construction project on the Mammoth Scenic Loop from the Town of Mammoth Lakes north to the intersection with US 395. The project work includes minor grading, drainage, pulverization, aggregate base and HACP. Road construction is to be accomplished in two phases with temporary road closures to facilitate construction efforts. Significant items of work include: 30101 Aggregate Base - 30,000 TON 30306 Pulverizing - 87,500 SQYD 40201 HACP Hveem test - 20,000 TON SPECIAL NOTICE: A pre-show conference is scheduled for October 27, 2009, 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, to provide a site visit to assist prospective bidders interested in the project. Questions will be answered during this time. Attendance at the pre-show conference is not mandatory, however, potential bidders are encouraged to attend. The site is closed to public traffic. Government transportation will not be provided for the site visit. Contractors will follow in their vehicle. We anticipate completing the site visit no later than noon. The conference will be held in the town of Mammoth Lakes, the exact location of the meeting will be provided to registered attendees. Preliminary plans will be provided to the attendees. Plans will need to be returned to the Federal Highway Administration at the end of the conference. Attendees must email CFLContracts@dot.gov no later than October 21, 2009 to register. Please provide the attendee(s) name (s), the firm name, the number of plans that will be needed for the site visit, and contact information. Advertisement is scheduled for March 29, 2010. Bid opening is scheduled for April 29, 2010. The estimated price range for the work is between $4 and $10 million.
