Description
The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Norfolk, Contracting Department, Groton, CT Office, intends to negotiate a Firm Fixed-Price contract for 688 and 774 Class Submarine Mooring Lines, Nylon Double Braid. The mooring lines currently in use must be replaced per current Allowance Equipment Listing (AEL). Sixty (60) of National Stock Number (NSN) 9B 4020-00-106-9409 for the 688 Class Submarines and eighteen (18) of NSN 9b 4020-01-424-0607 for the 774 Class Submarines are required. Specific details and additional information will be listed in the Request for Quote (RFQ). The 688 and 774 Class Submarine Mooring Lines will be acquired in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 - Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Part 13 - Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The required delivery for the Mooring Line will be no later than 19 May 2010 after contract award date. The North American Industry Classification System code for this acquisition is 423840. A Request for Quote (RFQ) will be available for download on or about 30 March 2010 at the following websites: www.neco.navy.mil and www.fbo.gov. Potential vendors are hereby notified that the solicitation and subsequent amendments to the solicitation will ONLY be available by downloading the documents at the above web sites. This office will no longer issue hard copy solicitations. By submitting a quote, the vendor will be self-certifying that neither the requestor nor the principal corporate officials and owners are currently suspended, debarred, or otherwise ineligible to receive contracts from any federal agency. Failure to do so may represent grounds for refusing to accept the quote. Through its submission, the vendor acknowledges the requirement that a prospective awardee must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database prior to award, during performance and through final payment of any contract resulting from this solicitation, except for award to foreign vendors for work to be performed outside the United States. Lack of registration in the CCR database will make a vendor ineligible for award. Vendors may obtain information on registration and annual confirmation requirements by calling 1-888-227-2423, or via the Internet at http://www.ccr.gov.
