- THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. The Department of Veterans Affairs, West Palm Beach intends to solicit and negotiate a sole-source task/delivery order for Architect/Engineer Services with EMTEC Corporation for the design of installation of fan coil unit cooling systems in 30 telephone/data closets. The proposed task/delivery order will be issued against the current open-ended Architect/Engineer Contract with EMTEC, V548P-1209. The existing contract was previously competed. EMTEC will design a project to install units in the 30 most critical telephone/data closets in the medical center. Currently the telephone/data closets are cooled using the air handler units feeding the Medical Center. Engineering implemented Time of Day Programs for the air handlers for areas that are used only Monday-Friday. Air handlers shut off in areas where there are no occupants. Since the telephone/data closets now contain processer/computers controlling telephone and data, the time of day programs cannot be used due to overheating of the computer equipment. Installing fan coil units in these closets will allow for time of day programming on the main air handlers and these smaller fan coils will allow 24/7 cooling in these closets. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. All information received by 12 noon EST, 8 March 2010 will be considered by the Government. A determination not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. NAICS code is 541310, with a size standard of $4.5M.
