Description: The fuel nozzles are weldedassemblies that deliver carefully calibrated, precisely patterned fuelspray for combustion in a gas turbine engine. The fuel nozzle consistsof a cover or inlet, check valve, cartridge valve, support, and meteringset. Function: The fuel nozzle assembly receives fuel through theinlet. Fuel passes through the inlet strainer and accumulates in theportion of the support that houses the valves. The primary flow passesthrough the primary strainer and is directed through the check valve.It then passes through the inner tube of the support to the primary bodyof the metering set. Fuel passes around the primary plug and throughthe primary body and enters the combustion chamber as a uniform density,cone shaped spray. The secondary flow activates the flow dividercartridge valve. This ports fuel through the restrictor orifice and theouter tube of the support to the shroud and secondary body of themetering set. This fuel passes around the primary boy and through theshroud and secondary body and enters the combustion chamber as a uniformdensity, cone shaped spray. The cone of the secondary spray is widerthan that of the primary and therefore surrounds the primary spraypattern. Dimensions: length: 7.06 inches; width: 3.00 inches; height:3.00 inches; weight: 1.28 lbs.Qualification requirements: Sources must be qualified prior to beingconsidered for award. Qualification requirements are not available forthis acquisition. These qualification requirements apply to line item(s)0001 through 0006. The approximate solicitation issue date is 15 APR2010 and the estimated solicitation response date will be 14 MAY 2010.The anticipated award date will be 28 MAY 2010. RMC: R1C.
