Description
Reference the Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA), Sources Sought Announcement, dated 4/1/2010 that NNSA is planning to develop and implement a contracting strategy to improve project management execution at the eight (8) sites by competitively awarding a new construction management contract(s). Projects under these contract(s) may range from of minor non-nuclear projects to large, complex nuclear projects, design services, construction, project management services. The purpose of this announcement is to inform interested parties that NNSA has scheduled an Industry Day Conference on April 22, 2010 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm in Germantown, MD. The Industry Day will be held in the Germantown Auditorium at the Department of Energy, 19901 Germantown Road, Germantown, MD 20874. As a result of space limitations, attendance will be restricted to three (3) representatives from each company until the maximum seating capacity of 300 is reached. To reserve space at the Industry Day Conference, please send an e-mail request to Clay Burgess at CBurgess@doeal.gov by 6:00 pm (EDT), April 16, 2010. Your request must specifically identify your company name/affiliation as well as the specific name(s) and title(s) of the individual attendees. Attendees are required to be US citizens. Reservations for the Industry Day Conference will be on a “first come” basis. Attendance/participation at the Industry Day Conference is encouraged, but is not a prerequisite, for participation in any solicitation that may eventually result from the conference. NNSA will not be responsible for any costs incurred for attendance. Stringent DOE Germantown security access procedures will be imposed during the day of the Conference. For those attendees who do not have DOE badges, you should plan to arrive early in anticipation of vehicle inspections conducted by security personnel. Attendees will be limited to ground access only during the Conference. The primary objective of this Conference is to obtain attendees’ input and feedback to optimize the Government’s technical requirements, contract considerations, and acquisition approach(es). This will allow NNSA to develop its new procurement strategy for construction management, engineering services, project management, and support services. Other objectives include an exchange of information with attendees, opportunity(ies) for networking, and submission of questions and answers. Questions and answers will be posted on the CM website, http://www.doeal.gov/cm. Slides generated in support of the Conference will also be posted on the website. The applicable North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Codes for this requirement are expected to include NAICS Codes 23/54/22/56. This announcement is not a request for proposal and in no way commits the Government to award a contract. No solicitation exists at this time.
