Description
Quad chart to be submitted with requested information. : This REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) is soliciting industry comments for planning to improve systems to screen personnel-borne explosives threats at Pentagon entrance locations. The RFI is being released by the Washington Headquarter Services (WHS) and Acquisition and Procurement Office (A&PO) on behalf of the Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA) Science and Technology Office (PSTO), the requestor. This RFI is being issued for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a Request for Proposal (RFP) or as an obligation on the part of the requestor to acquire any products or services. If a RFP is issued, it will be officially issued by the appropriate Government contracting office. The Requestor does not intend to pay for the information requested herein. All information provided is for Government planning use only. If proprietary information is provided, please mark as Proprietary for Government Use Only. Qualified sources may be asked to further discuss their product offerings, integration approach, interface comments and suggestions with key Government planners and decision makers. Potential systems may include well-established as well as new technologies to address explosive threats in a safe, operator-friendly manner with a minimum impact on visitors and pedestrian throughput. The Government is currently in the process of determining specific requirements and evaluating potential technologies for implementation into current and future concepts of operation. Submissions: (1) Vendors are requested to submit a quad chart for consideration. Example is attached. Vendors with multiple personnel screening systems are requested to submit a separate quad chart for each system. Quad charts will summarize technologies and provide a basis for candidates to exhibit their desire to compete for consideration. Technology Areas under consideration will include: a.Whole body scanners/imagers b.Benchtop explosives detectors c.Handheld detectors d.Standoff detectors (2) Vendors may be invited to participate in an Industry Demonstration Day on Thursday, 20 May 2010 (1000-1400 hrs) at the Pentagon Center Courtyard. Attendees are requested to present demonstrative hardware of candidate systems if possible. During this time, members of the selection committee will be present, as well as a number of other Pentagon representatives. More information will be provided after receipt of Quad charts identified above.
