- RECOVERY - HONEYWELL INTERNATIONAL INC. PRE-AWARD NOTICE FOR ARRA: RECOVERY ACTTHIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. HONEYWELL INTERNATIONAL INC. WASCOMPETITIVELY SELECTED UNDER NASA RESEARCH ANNOUNCEMENTNASA Ames Research Center has committed support for specific efforts under the AmericanRecovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Recovery Act funds for NASAs Aviation SafetyProgram Research funded by the Recovery Act. The NASA Research Announcement (NRA),NNH09ZEA001N-IIFD,sought proposals that identify new aspects of future aircraftautomation that will specifically focus on developing innovative tools, concepts,methods, and technologies that improve the safety attributes of current / future aircraftand of aviation operations. The Integrated Intelligent Flight Deck (or IIFD) Projectfocuses on the challenges of aircraft automation functions in the Next Gen environment,with particular attention to the potential for safety and capacity increases in theterminal area. NASA Ames Research Center intends to issue a contract entitled 'Examination of InnovativeFlight Deck Automation Technologies in the Nextgen Operational Environment', to designingfunctions of a critical element of future aviation systems; namely aircraft flight decks.The proposal was previously submitted in response to a NASA Research Announcement (NRA)NNH09ZEA001N-IIFD, Research Opportunities in Aeronautics (ROA) 2009 issued March 13,2009.This effort will be performed at Honeywell International Inc., authorized under theAmerican Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. This announcement will not result in a Request for Proposal; this announcement is forinformational purposes only.
